The band Texas Flood has been synonymous with brilliant gigs for years. They were founded in 2006 and, led by guitarist and singer Nenad Zlatanović, released two studio albums and one live album during their nearly two-decade-long career. They played an impressive number of concerts, which earned them the unofficial title of the undisputed "kings of the clubs" and the status of a group that always creates a great atmosphere and party until the morning, wherever they perform.
On November 14, Texas Flood will promote its first album recorded live, "Live at Dom omladine", exactly where it was created - in front of the audience at the Americana. This edition represents the best testimony of their energy on stage and their justified reputation as concert favorites of the local audience. The modern era on the Belgrade and Serbian blues scene begins with the band Texas Flood, and the live album recorded in DOB is the pinnacle of the band's work so far in a concert format.
Texas Flood became known to a wide audience after a great performance in front of the legendary ZZ Top in the Belgrade Arena in 2009 for 15,000 people, which is one of the unforgettable moments of the domestic rock scene. After the authentic debut "Grinnin' In Your Face" (2009), on the album "I'm looking for people like me" they successfully covered the classics of Yugoslav rock and roll in a blues manner. During all these years, Texas Flood have successfully maintained the high professional standards of musicianship that they set themselves, especially when it comes to their phenomenal performances, carried by an eruption of emotions.
Cotton Pickers, an exceptional hard-blues band from Mladenovac, will premiere their new, long-awaited project "Pickin' Out Strong" to the audience. The group was formed in 2004, and from the very beginning the line-up consists of: Jovan Stepić (guitar and vocals), Ivan Stepić (bass guitar) and Uroš Ugrinović (drums). To this day, they continue to amaze with their great original songs and energetic performances, charged with emotions. Their electric hard blues, in the style of the great masters, easily gets the audience on their feet and makes them dance. The debut album "Slaughterhouse Blues" (2012, Long Play Records) was both a critical and listener success - it won the Radio Belgrade 202 award for the best debut album according to audience votes. This year, they started a new phase of their career through cooperation with the publishing house Menart Serbia. On this occasion, their first album was reissued, which is now available on all digital platforms. They are currently finishing work on their second studio album, which will be released by the end of the year and will feature ten brand new songs. If you like honest, energetic blues-rock, the Pickers are a band you shouldn't miss!
During the past twenty years, the Cotton Pickers band's sound - strong, raw and sensitive - based on blues and rock roots, has been profiled through author's work and over a hundred concert performances in the country and abroad. The audience remembers them as energetic performers from festivals such as Zaječarska Gitarijada (winners 2011), Nišvil, Beer Fest, Fort Blues Rock Festival, as well as many international events - from Izola Blues Festival (Slovenia) to Jerry Ricks Blues Festival (Croatia) and Deva Jazz Festival (Romania). The Cotton Pickers will once again confirm their reputation as a top concert band in front of the local audience on the stage of the America Hall in the Youth Center of Belgrade.
Monday Blues Band is the band behind one of the most successful and longest-running music programs of the Belgrade Youth Center. The story of the Monday Blues program began in May 2017, when Aleksandar Đukić and Bojan Vulin held their first performance as a duet at Milan Mladenović's Plateau. Their concert marked the beginning of a long-term program initiative of the Youth Center, within which 100 concerts were held.
During the past eight years, as part of the Monday Blues program, numerous prominent local blues groups have performed, and special ad hoc bands have often been assembled for these concerts. The program itself has become a recognizable brand of Dom omladine Beograd, which brings high-quality, sincere and genre-authentic blues to audiences of all generations. Many heard the blues for the first time at these concerts and immediately became his loyal audience.
From the original duet Đukić & Vulin, the Monday Blues Band was born, which will perform in the composition of: Aleksandar Đukić (bass, vocals), Bojan Vulin (guitar), Milan Petrović (keyboards) and Željko Janković (drums).
